Nature’s Kinship – A Tangible Presence
I create nature inspired ceramic architectural ornamentation using detailed carving and multiple mosaic components. I respond to the confines of a chosen space to define an area in which I will adorn.
By referencing different moments of growth within nature, I highlight the interaction of beauty and vitality between those particular stages. The flower fresh in bloom signifies a youthful growth while the matured, dehydrated leaf, my primary source of inspiration, represents wisdom and beauty that is unique within itself. I desire for the viewer to notice this uniqueness and slow down their pace viewing the ornament within the adorned architecture.
